“I am truly humbled and honored to receive the Life-Saving Award on two separate occasions while serving my community.”
A Life-Saving Award is one of the highest honors that a St. Helens Police Officer can receive. It is given to an officer for an extraordinary act or effort that resulted in the saving of human life or lives that would have otherwise died without the officer’s direct involvement.
This may include:
· A situation involving more than routine first aid.
· Steadfast medical intervention performed by the officer.
· A life-threatening emergency that an officer was not trained or
equipped to handle.
· Heroic physical intervention.
On two separate occasions, Terry Massey was the recipient of the honored Life Saving Award for promptly responding to members of the community. His heroic efforts on both occasions resulted in positive outcomes and lifesaving efforts for all of those involved.
